"I agree with the Malang MUI, East Java, which states that the 2012 movie can mislead the people, especially the Muslims, so the government needs to re-evaluate the permit for that movie," he said in Banjarmasin, Tuesday.
The former rector of the State Institute of Islamic Studies (IAIN) of Antasari Banjarmasin hoped that the government would pay more attention to all the misleading and disconcerting issues of the people.

"And Moslems should not be influenced by these negative trends against the tenets and religious values, because these influences endanger life, - before or the life after death," he said.
"Recently there have been some odd movies that can mislead and hurt the Muslims," he said. Previously, the Malang Regency MUI, East Java, ordered Muslems to avoid watching 2012, which is now on the hotseat on many theatres in Indonesia.
The MUI chief of Malang Regency, Mahmud Zubaidi judges the movie as misleading because according to the Islam faith, doomsday cannot be predicted because it's up to the will of God almighty. The movie may cause people, especially the Moslems, to believe that doomsday is really in 2012.
